| Living in a small community like Moraga is the common bond that brings Moraga Junior Women's Club (MJWC) members together. In addition to the club’s philanthropic efforts, it also hosts many social events. These range from monthly book club meetings, to regular ladies' nights, an annual family barbecue, couples' wine tasting, and a Road Rally. One recent club-only event featured a ladies' night out of wine tasting, appetizers, and a movie.
MJWC is run by and for its members. Every member contributes to the club via participation in its major events and through various "jobs" within the organization. We try to match each member with a job that matches her talents and interests. Without the hard work each member provides, members of the club would not have as much fun or give as much back to the greater community.
Over the past three decades the Moraga Junior Women's Club has become a highly respected community service organization, with one of the most active memberships of any single Junior Women's Club in all of California. The club won five awards for the year 2006 from the Mt. Diablo District of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC). These awards reflect the club's excellence in Fundraising (First Place), Arts in the Community (First Place), United Nations (First Place), Helping Hands (Second Place), and Membership (Second Place). The club is proud of these honors and shares credit across its entire membership.
All members of the Moraga Junior Women's Club live in Moraga, California. Membership is open, and the club invite anyone to join without regard to race, color, creed, age, or national origin. The MJWC is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, governed by an elected board. For membership information, please contact us. |
